Clotted cream can be a smidge tricky to find in the US, but it shouldn’t be a problem if you know where to look. Lucky for you, we’ve already done the legwork! The main brand of clotted cream you’ll find the States is Devon Cream Co.
First off, we recommend doing a search on your local grocery store’s website or giving them a call. Clotted cream will most likely be in their specialty cheese, deli, or international section. (We picked up clotted cream from the deli section of our local Publix.)
We have confirmed (via the stores’ websites) that the following chains/grocers have clotted cream at some/all locations:
- Publix
- Wegmans
- Whole Foods Market
- World Market
- Central Market (TX only)
- Metcalfe’s (WI only)
We also recommend checking at your local independent grocers, local British or international specialty food shops, or local cheese shops. (For example, fellow ATLiens, we have seen clotted cream at Buford Highway Farmers Market before.)
If you know of a shop in your area that sells clotted cream, feel free to leave the store name and city in the comments below!
(Also, we have reached out to Devon Cream Co. to see if they have any additional shop recommendations that we missed in our research. At the time of publishing this recipe, we have yet to hear back, but we will be sure to update this article when/if we do.)
