How to Prepare Brown Sugar Tapioca Pearls (Boba)

- 10 cups (2.4 L) water
- 1 cup (160g) Nuts.com Black Tapioca Pearls, uncooked
- 3 Tbsp (40g) brown sugar
Instructions
- Pour water into a large pot, then place over high heat.
- When the water begins to boil, gently stir in tapioca pearls. Once the boba have floated to the top, cover pot and turn heat down to medium-low.
- Continue simmering for 30 minutes. Do not remove the lid, as that will release the heat and steam.
- After 30 minutes, turn off heat. Allow boba to rest for 30 minutes.
- Gently rinse boba with warm water to remove excess starch. Drain boba and pour into a bowl. While boba is still warm, carefully stir in brown sugar.
- Set aside and allow to cool completely.
- Use to make bubble tea at home or add to a fun bake, such as our Taro Milk Tea Cream Puffs or Milk Tea Tres Leches Cake.
